M-Adam Designs
Cabin G29We’re welcoming back a longstanding patron of Errol Sunday Market- Margaret Adam, of M-Adam Designs! She’s a sole trader, supported by her other half, Dave, who helps turn her dreams into reality.
All of Margaret’s items are handmade by her locally on the Carse of Gowrie. She sells bags of her own design from tartan, 100% wool that’s woven in the UK (Scotland and Yorkshire), Harris Tweed, waterproof fabric, tapestry and cotton drill. She also makes use of unique fabrics that she acquires a piece at a time which all adds to the uniqueness of her bags. She also makes scarves, stoles, capes, and brooches. Her collection of handmade teddy bears are also of her own design, made from the highest quality faux fur in the UK. Wherever possible, they source all raw materials from the UK, and endeavour to have minimal waste from their production of handmade items.
Margaret’s ethos is “quality products at affordable prices”, and to promote genuine “Made in Scotland” products. Customer experience has been at the core of her endeavours to retrofit her cabin. She’s done a fantastic job of displaying her products to provide the best visual experience, complete with a cosy waiting area where her customers can have a seat and take a rest.
When we asked Margaret what drew her to Errol, she had the following to say:
“I have long been a visitor to the Errol Sunday Market and so it was my first port of call when I was looking for a venue to sell my hand made cards – way back in 2016…There began my journey into bag making which led on to designing bag pattern myself. This in turn led on to me designing three tartans of my own and they are registered with the Scottish Tartan Register in Edinburgh.”
Margaret’s plans for the future include building a customer base at Errol Sunday Market, increasing traffic to her website m-adamdesigns.com, and a return to demonstrating and selling her products on the TV shopping channel Create and Craft.
